Couple’s Intensely Unstoppable Boogie-Woogie Dance Scores Them the Championship

Boogie-woogie is a style of piano playing characterized by its driving rhythm and repetitive patterns that originated in the late 1800s in the United States. It was developed by African American pianists who blended elements of blues, ragtime, and jazz music to create a new style of music. Boogie–woogie became popular in the early 20th century and was featured prominently in the 1920s and 1930s in the form of juke joints and barrelhouses.  Dancing to boogie-woogie piano is actually “swing dancing,” which also has been around for nearly a century. It originated in the 1920s and 1930s in the United States, when boogie-woogie and swing music were popular. The earliest form of swing dancing was called the Lindy Hop, and it was danced to the big band music of the era. Over the years, the Lindy Hop evolved into other forms of swing dancing such as the Jitterbug, Balboa, East Coast Swing, and West Coast Swing.  Swing Dancing has continued to grow in popularity and today is practiced all over the world. And two of the best practitioners around are in this video: Sondre Olsen-Bye and…
