Ed Sheeran had a bit of fun hours before his successful concert in the Philippines.
The English singer-songwriter let loose by indulging in a favorite Filipino pastime — singing karaoke.
A video posted by Ed on Instagram saw the “Shape of You” hitmaker pushing a karaoke machine backstage to show to members of his team, concert organizers, and his front acts Calum Scott and Ben&Ben.
“We have a portable karaoke machine. Because karaoke is very popular in the Philippines and we’re going to sing some songs,” said Ed.
FROM DANCING QUEEN TO MAROON 5
Armed with the karaoke machine, Ed started going around and inviting those around him to sing songs.
Some of the songs that were sung as seen in the video included “Dancing Queen’ by ABBA, Maroon 5’s “This Love,” Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” Beyonce’s “Love On Top,” and even Ed’s own song “Thinking Out Loud.”

Before coming to the Philippines, Ed visited a karaoke place in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he surprised a group of singing teenagers.
Ed was in the Philippines to perform as part of his ongoing Mathematics Tour.
The concert was held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.
During the concert, Ed repeatedly invited the crowd to sing along with him, rewarding their efforts with a smile of approval.
Ed played a big chunk of his songs during the concert, including the hits “Perfect,” “Happier,” and “Thinking Out Loud.”
