“Get ready to laugh!”

This YouTube channel named ‘Farmer Derek’ makes different kinds of videos: his cows appear on Shark Week, they line up to spell a word that a satellite takes a picture of, a college choir sings in his grain storage area, and he even caught a fish using his drone!

This farmer from Kansas has always had a strong desire to be creative.

He started using YouTube as a way to express his creativity in 2008.

He uses his farm as the setting for his videos, and he has made his cows famous all around the world.

As rich countries in the world move away from farming, Farmer Derek’s cow videos are becoming more and more popular.

TV channels from different countries, like the Discovery Channel, have visited his farm to make videos.

He’s really happy to show the world that Kansas farmers are good people who are like a family, they eat the same food as others, and they like to have fun while working.

And just recently, Farmer Derek also serenaded his cows.

Together with other musically inclined farmers named Alex Young, Michael Dawson, Lucas Hulett, Greg Moose, and Randy Crow, Derek gifted his cows a beautiful instrumental song.

Set in a wide and serene farmland, Farmer Derek and the rest of his crew lined themselves and started blowing through their trombones to call the cows’ attention.

The song that they chose was none other than Meghan Trainor’s hit, ‘Mother.’

In just five months, the song’s official music video has already amassed over 13 million views on YouTube.

According to Wikipedia,

“it’s a pop song with doo-wop influences, it interpolates the Chordettes’ single “Mr. Sandman”. Inspired by men who said Trainor’s pregnancy would end her career, the song is about women’s empowerment; in its lyrics, she asks the male subject to stop mansplaining and to listen to her.”

And so the group of six farmers and their trombones started to blow through their instruments.

It’s as if they were calling the cows that were approximately a little over 100 meters away from them.

Just like magic, the cows began to march their way closer to Farmer Derek and his crew.

It almost looked like they actually loved the instrumental music.

The question now is, do animals like music?

In a study that hasn’t been shared with the public yet, scientists Dr. Adrian North and Liam McKenzie from the University of Leicester found something interesting about dairy cows and music.

When these cows listened to calm and slow music, like songs such as ‘Everybody Hurts’ by REM and Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral Symphony,’ they made more milk!

During the study, the cows gave around 3% more milk each day when they heard this kind of music.

A person who understands animal behavior from the University of Wisconsin-Madison recently discovered that animals actually like what he calls ‘species-specific music.’

This means music made especially with sounds, pitches, and rhythms that a particular kind of animal is used to.

Pretty soon, the cows lined up in front like real spectators keenly listening to the music.

It’s pretty unbelievable, the cows swarmed in front of Farmer Derek and his fellow musicians.

It’s like a mini-concert in the farm field.

The cows behaved like real audiences during the instrumental music performance of the talented farmers.

It’s another feel-good video featuring humans and animals.
