This is just amazing – what a talented little boy he is.
Prepare to be amazed by a young boy named Avett Ray, a self-taught piano prodigy hailing from Dayton, Ohio.
This six-year-old virtuoso is not just an ordinary child; he is blind, making his musical skills all the more remarkable.
“From the moment he could hoist himself up to reach the piano keys, he was playing the melody to ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’,” shared Avett’s mother, Sara Moore, in an interview with CBS News.
This occurred when Avett was 11-months-old.
Since that auspicious beginning, he has been under the tutelage of a piano teacher who has introduced him to new techniques and classical masterpieces, transforming him into a musical sensation.
“Music is ingrained in his very being,” Moore expressed.
“He’s now focusing on honing his performance skills.
Given his extraordinary talent, he’s been receiving numerous requests to perform.”
Avett Ray has indeed been showcasing his talent at various events, with his largest audience to date numbering nine hundred attendees.
This young prodigy has already had a few viral video hits.
His first viral video is fondly remembered for a moment when he asked his mother to text his music to Adele, his favorite singer at the time.
The innocence of his belief that his mother could magically contact Adele won the hearts of many.
One of Avett’s popular videos involves one of his favorite bands, Queen.
After watching the Oscar-nominated film “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Avett was so moved by the music that he decided to create his own cover.
His rendition of the iconic song “Bohemian Rhapsody” on the piano quickly garnered over 9 million views.
Moore reveals that her son’s musical preferences are ever-evolving and he is perpetually curious.
What makes Avett even more extraordinary is his medical condition, optic nerve fibroplasia, which he was born with.
“He’s completely blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other,” Moore explained.
“He’s significantly visually impaired. He navigates with a cane and reads braille.”
Moore hopes that Avett’s videos will inspire kindness, acceptance, and understanding towards those with special needs.
She has even authored a book titled “Cotton Candy Clouds” to raise awareness and support for the blind or visually impaired.
“He’s the protagonist in the book,” Moore elaborated.
“Essentially, he couldn’t see the clouds in the sky, so I wrote this book so he could ‘see’ them.”
The book serves as a platform to discuss diversity and the uniqueness of every individual, highlighting that we are all born with our own gifts.
“I aim to educate people on how to interact with the blind and visually impaired,” Moore added.
Despite progress, Moore acknowledges that resources for the blind and visually impaired remain somewhat limited.
“If every company prioritized inclusion, it would make a world of difference for so many Americans,” she expressed.
Since Avett Ray’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ cover went viral, people worldwide have shown their support for this extraordinary young boy and others like him.
