Ever wished you could have heard Franz Liszt perform live?

Well, now you can (sort of).

Meet 17-year-old Michael Andreas: Franz Liszt’s great-great-grandson. The Spanish pianist recently performed La Campanella at Audenis music store in Barcelona, and it’s fair to say that he certainly has Liszt’s blood running through his veins.

In front of an audience both inside and outside the shop, Andreas performed the advanced piece to perfection.

Amazingly, the talented young pianist has just finished studying at the Municipal Conservatory of Barcelona. He completed his course in piano, singing and composition in just four years. It normally takes six.

What’s more, Andreas reached the final of Got Talent Spain in 2018 with a medley of his own compositions.

Andreas’s great-great-grandmother also happens to be Sophie Mentor – Liszt’s favourite female pupil and protégé. Andreas was personally invited last year to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich, Germany, to play the virtuoso piano works of his great-great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother in memory of the latter’s 100th anniversary since her death.

It’s safe to say that talent certainly does run in this family.
