This brightened my day – I just love their moves.

Time to step into a time machine and dance the day away like they used to way before modern technology took over.

It was the time of well dressed men and women who knew how to dance, discuss serious matters, and share laughs the entire evening.

And most importantly, they knew how to have fun!

But just who are these gorgeous women?

“The Swingin’ in the Rennes association brings Swing to life in Rennes with regular classes in Lindy hop, Charleston, Solo Jazz Roots and Blues.”

That’s what the description says when translated from French.

Merveilleuse!

The Swingsationals are Justine, Johanne, Pauline, Lisa, Maela, Hélène, Constance, Daria, and Anna.

Swing is a dance popularized from the 1920’s to around the 1940’s.

Developed with the swing style of jazz music from the era, this dance referred to the style of jazz music that inspired the dance.

Hundreds of styles of swing developed but the ones that have survived through the decades are the Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, and the Charleston.

The most popular, and most widely known, is the Lindy Hop, which originated in Harlem in the early 1930s.

And these dancing ladies are all about the swing, with gorgeous costumes to go with the dance.

Thank the Hotel Barrière L’Hermitage La Baule for the place too!

Their costumes seem to come from the 1920’s, with big band jazz energy from the 1930’s or so.

It’s a blast from the past for five minutes, so enjoy it!

Really, you cannot help but smile and dance a bit in your seat as these women shuffle, spin, and smile, as they bring you back in time.

And how about some Lindy Hop?

High energy, blistering footwork, and a lot of animations characterize this popular dance.

These women are so much fun to watch a viewer had this to say,

“Ladies this was amazing! What high energy and fun. Now I want to find a jazz dance troupe to join. Fantastic performance. I was truly enthralled by the entire routine!”

If not for the fun dance and big smiles, you’d swear this was an episode of Peaky Blinders.

Are these girls trying to bring back the flappers?

The flappers of the 1920s were young women known for their energetic freedom.

They embraced a lifestyle viewed by many at the time as outrageous, immoral and even downright dangerous.

It’s these women considered now to be the first generation of independent American women since they pushed barriers in economic, political and sexual freedom for all.

So imagine how it was at the time, when women were expected to dress and behave a certain way.

Then you have these girls come in with their dresses, dancing like tomorrow would never come.

That is the spirit of the Swingsationals, so dance and have fun, ladies!
