The aspiring singer said she would lie to her parents and boyfriend about why she needed to borrow money from them
CONTROVERSIAL X Factor hopeful Kayleigh Taylor has admitted to having a cocaine and booze addiction which has left her £15,000 in debt.
The aspiring singer, 28, impressed Simon Cowell and the judges during the latent show’s opening weekend but has since been forced to apologise for using racial slurs on social media.
Now, she’s admitted her battle with drug addiction impacted on her ability as a parent as she splashed £300 on coke and booze on weekend binges.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, she said: “I used to slag people off for taking the stuff and I used to think it wasn’t an addiction but obviously it was.
“I’ve always been a confident person but I can speak to people, but because I’m self conscious it used to make me feel more confident. Every time I went out I relied on it.
“I owe payday loan companies because I tried to get loans to fund my habit. I’m in £15,000 of debt.
“I’d lie to my boyfriend and tell him I’d be going to a gig to mind the children but I was actually going out to get off my face.”
Kayleigh issued a public apology earlier this week for sending vile racist messages to a former friend on Facebook.
The aspiring singer said sorry for her “disgusting” language after the vicious exchange leaked online.
In a statement released to The Sun Online, she said: “This is disgusting language which there is no excuse for. I shouldn’t have used it and I wholeheartedly apologise for using it.
“This argument took place seven years ago. I have admitted I have made mistakes in the past – and a lot of them – and I am now trying to better my life and be a better person.”
Meanwhile the mum-of-three — who has a tattoo of Simon Cowell — has been branded “completely fame hungry” by her ex.
Sion Holt, of Norwich, said: “She’s gone for everything. She’s desperate to be on TV.”
He said mum-of-three Kayleigh, who wowed judges with Evanescence’s My Immortal, has tried for X Factor five years in a row.
Dad-of-one Sion added: “She wanted it so much it was desperate.”
Earlier this week it was reported that ex-chip shop worker Kayleigh sent a barrage of racist messages to a former schoolmate in 2010.
She has been on The Jeremy Kyle Show three times and tried to get on Britain’s Got Talent and Judge Rinder.
Kayleigh got through to boot camp last Saturday.
