True stars on talent shows are hard to find. Entertainment shows such as The Voice are always in search of the next star, and in the show’s 24th season, a true talent was found in Mara Justine. Her blind audition featured a cover of Sir Elton John’s classic hit “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, and was so impressive that all of The Voice’s judges were battling with each other to have Mara on their team.

We were not just in for one treat during Mara Justine’s audition, but two. Alongside her incredible cover of Elton John’s classic hit “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, judge and superstar John Legend was so impressed by Mara’s performance that he ended up joining her on stage for a duet of his own classic single, “All of Me”. This became just as, if not more, impressive compared to her initial audition, as Mara harmonized with John Legend with ease throughout the performance.

After Mara’s initial performance, she is clearly taken aback by the outpouring of respect and admiration from both the audience and the judges themselves. They all give their reasons as to why she would be best in their own individual teams: John Legend was taken aback by her vocal ability and wanted to enhance it; Gwen Stefani wanted to invest in Mara’s already impressive stage presence and take it one step further. Regardless of who she chose, Mara was going to have to make a tough decision.

When it comes to British music, few have made quite the mark like Sir Elton John. His career is extensive and full of accolades all the way through, leading to him being pegged as one of the most successful music artists in history. His music also had a huge impact on popular music in general, with over fifty top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart, and over 300 million records sold worldwide. His 1973 classic “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” is one among many of his most popular tracks.

Mara Justine’s stunning audition was so popular, in fact, that the viral clip of her performing “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” reached an impressive 2.3 million views on YouTube. The outpouring of love and support from YouTube users all over the world was overwhelming for Justine, who even commented on the video herself. “Thank you, everyone, for all your sweet comments,” she said. “This was one of the coolest moments of my life and I’m so blessed for all the love and support!”

The love and support from fans were not just felt in YouTube comments after the show. Mara Justine went on through the blind audition and all the way into the Top 5 of the competition before sadly being eliminated. Despite this, she has mentioned that the experience of being on The Voice is something that she will not forget easily.
