Street piano players have been filling the screens of many YouTube viewers ever since the craze started. The trend started in train stations as a way for commuters to relieve stress. Train station authorities figured that the more they got people to play these pianos, the better it would be for everyone. Initially, people who were just curious about the whole experiment were the ones that approached the pianos.

Then, more and more people who were actually very good players took center stage at the station and treated everyone to the best piano session they could ever hope for. At times, people were shocked to see very young children performing a song wonderfully on the piano while other times, it was a seasoned player who would be the one providing the musical entertainment.

Out of all the musical genres that have been played on street pianos, one of the most difficult is ragtime. You may be familiar with it. It’s an up-tempo, jazzy boogie-woogie tune which is energetically played on the piano. The style is known for having a staggered style that’s bound to lift your spirit and get you going. I am sure you’ll want to bust a couple of dance moves.

I am happy to inform you that there are a couple of very talented piano players that are just awesome at this. Their names are Jonny May and Johnny Hodges. They were actually trained in classical music. They work at the Disneyland in Anaheim. These guys are an awesome pair. You will be surprised at how well they sound when they play together. They take a layered piece of jazz music and perform it brilliantly. They hit the right notes at the right time and make it look easy.

Watch as their hands dance around each other in complete harmony. They do this thing where their fingers look as if they are gliding over each of the keys. These two piano players not only know to play the piano, but they also know how to put a great show for everyone there. They are enjoying every minute of it and they have big smiles to show it.
