Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stopped over for three nights in Liverpool and her performance blew UK fans away.

The show took songs from across her illustrious career and laid them out in different ‘eras’ for fans to enjoy.

When it came time to singing ‘Champagne Problems’ from her 2020 album Evermore, it appears that the crowd’s reaction moved Swift emotionally.

The song chronicles the end of a relationship, with the lyrics painting a sad picture: “I never was ready, so I watch you go / Sometimes you just don’t know the answer / ‘Til someone’s on their knees and asks you.”

As the audience gave her performance an uproarious response, the hit-maker appeared visibly moved.

Removing her earpiece, she told the crowd at the Anfield Stadium: “I love you so much, Liverpool. Thank you!”

This comes just after her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, opened up about their break-up in a recent interview.

Talking to The Sunday Times Style, the 33-year-old actor said: “As everyone knows, we together – both of us, mutually – decided to keep the more private details of our relationship private.

“It was never something to commodify and I see no reason to change that now.

“And, look, this is also a little over a year ago now and I feel fortunate to be in a really great place in my life, professionally and personally. I feel really good.”

When asked if he’d listened to Swift’s most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, Alwyn gave an evasive answer.

“In thinking on what I was going to say, I would think and hope that anyone and everyone can empathize,” he replied.

“This isn’t a direct answer to your question, but just thinking about what I want to talk about.

“I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years.”

Alwyn and Swift first began dating in 2016 and kept their relationship extremely low-key, only being seen out together on a handful of occasions. Their split was confirmed last year.

After a brief relationship with 1975 frontman Matty Healy, Swift paired up with NFL star Travis Kelce.

The singer has not publicly commented on the end of her relationship with Alwyn, but fans believe that several songs on her latest album are about him.

Swift’s Eras Tour has a few more dates left in the UK, with Cardiff and London serving as her next stops before she takes on the rest of Europe.
