Taylor Swift makes a surprise appearance for a 96-year-old superfan – revealing the heartwarming reason behind her gesture…

Taylor Swift has always been good to her fans, but the singer went above and beyond the call when it came to 96-year-old Cyrus Porter, her oldest—if not most dedicated—fan.

Cyrus, who gained attention when he professed his love for Taylor in an interview with local Missouri news station KFVS earlier this year, got quite a surprise this Christmas. Showing up on his doorstep in New Madrid, Missouri, on December 26, Taylor made up for the belated holiday arrival with a present good enough to make Santa Claus jealous: gifting Cyrus and his family with a private performance.

And the singer didn’t just, well, sing for Cyrus, a World War II veteran. As documented on social media by Cyrus’s grateful family, after she entered the home to a chorus of screams, Taylor talked with Cyrus, posed for photos with the whole brood, and took a tour of Cyrus’s wall of WWII memorabilia.

Cyrus’s grandson, Robert Frye, captioned a photo of Taylor with a smiling Cyrus and the rest of the family close behind, “Taking selfies, holding babies, hugging grandpas and leaving lipstick marks. Taylor Swift does it all. Awesome [sic] day for my Popo!!”
