The LIFE+ CELEBRATION CONCERT took place on 6th June 2017 and featured a unique group of opera and theatre stars at the Vienna Burgtheater.
Under this year’s Life Ball slogan “Recognise the Danger”, numerous opera singers and actors united against AIDS of which eleven-year-old British child prodigy Alma Deutscher was the youngest performer to take to the stage. Alma was dressed by Viennese statement-brand The Small Gatsby in shiny pink silk for her appearance at the global HIV/AIDS project,
“It’s all so exciting! I love the occasion, I love Vienna, the great artists I’m honoured to join and this dress, which makes me feel like a princess. I had my Cinderella moment on the way up to the stage when I lost my shoe on the stairs and all that silk rustled about me. It was brilliant!” described Alma Deutscher
“We all know, Life is a matter of perspective, especially if you are caught between fun and responsibility. And if you don’t look twice, you might miss out on something fantastic! As this year’s 1920’s theme is also our brand leitmotif, it came naturally, to design Alma’s stage dress for her contribution. The cut of the dress is a balance between short and long, fitted and voluminous. The dress is made using pure silk, bright pink and soft grey, woven to a changeant marvel of a silk – the light decides the look. It suits Alma’s character, her strength and her grace, her professionalism and the playful joy she takes in her music. We are delighted, that she loves it” – Leading Ladies of The Small Gatsby, Teresa Zimmermann and Anita Dorner.
