Dolly Parton is a real gem who’s lived quite a life and continues to live it to the fullest.

Apparently, she is an Olympic super-fan so Parton released a music video for her new song, a cover of Queen’s “We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You.”

Yes, Dolly can rock with the best of them.

Her video was done in collaboration with NBCUniversal which celebrates the one year countdown to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.

Track athlete Noah Lyles, gymnast Suni Lee and swimmer Caeleb Dressel are just some of the athletes whose Olympic triumphs are featured in the video.

And who doesn’t know Queen?

Parton had this to say regarding this project.

“I love the Olympics! I do my best to plan my schedule to watch as much of it as I possibly can,” she says.

“I tape it just in case I miss the live action on a certain day and watch it back as soon as possible. I laugh, I cry, I scream, there are no losers in the Olympics as they have all spent a lifetime preparing but I celebrate with the ones that go away with the gold, silver, and bronze medals.”

The Country singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is 77 but she can still sing and perform.

Parton’s Queen mashup has her singing in an arena before it cuts to inspirational footage of previous Olympic games.

Amazing athletes who have been training most of their lives for a shot at glory on the Olympic stage.

Parton puts her own unique twist on Queen’s iconic tunes, harmonizing while sitting in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Shots of the athletes, swimming, running, rejoicing and crying are perfectly synced in to the music, showing viewers just how powerful and emotional the event has always been.

It’s absolutely perfect for the song, which she sings amazingly.

For gold and country.

“We Will Rock You” was written by Queen guitarist Brian May and “We Are the Champions” by legendary lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Both songs were released as one single and are frequently sang at sporting events with audience participation as the aim.

“We Will Rock You”, known for its mainly acapella arrangement with a simple stomping a clapping beat is played throughout major sporting events, and crowds love it.

Meanwhile, “We Are the Champions”, thanks to its uplifting lyrics and a melody so enchanting is a victory song that gets sports fans crying their eyes out.

Both songs were meant to be theatrical and participated with, as mentioned by the late Mercury, and Parton knew this all too well.

Great minds think alike.

Dolly’s outro has her sitting with a large crowd in the stands, stomping and clapping to “We Will Rock You” as she sings at the top of her lungs.

Maybe this music video will have you hitting the gym or getting back to that sport you used to love.

If this is how they’re counting down, then we can’t wait for the 2024 Olympics.
