Joshua hails from Ireland and his parents are originally from the Philippines, with his mother also being a singer.

‘I think I got my voice from my mum, she used to sing in a band,’ he explained.

For his stunning audition, Joshua performed a rendition of Calum Scott’s You Are The Reason, with all four coaches – Will.i.am, Pixie Lott, Paloma Faith and Danny Jones – turning their chairs.

After his performance, the coaches had nothing but praise for him, with Paloma saying: ‘I think from the first moment you sang, I was like, “this is beyond anything I thought I’d hear on Voice Kids.”’

While Danny added: ‘I don’t think I’ve ever heard that from a 14-year-old, ever.’

‘I thought you were singing just to me,’ Pixie then joked.

After the coaches asked Joshua about his mother and if she was a singer, they then urged him to bring her up on stage.

From out of nowhere, she came to join her son, as the two began to perform a mini duet of the song Joshua had just auditioned with.

There was not a dry eye in the house, as the coaches were brought to tears by this powerful moment – as well as the viewers watching at home.

‘That’s me sobbing at @thevoicekidsuk Beautiful,’ one wrote on Twitter. ‘What a lovely family.

‘Joshua, you have an amazing voice as does your mum.’

While another tearful fan added: ‘I’m welling up watching Josh and his mum sing on #TheVoiceKidsUK beautiful.’

One other fan wrote: ‘Oh Joshua singing with his mum was SO pure. #TheVoiceKidsUK really is the most wholesome show. I love it.’

Joshua then had a pretty difficult decision to make, as he had to choose which coach’s team he would join. After some deliberation, he chose to join Team Pixie.

If that wasn’t enough, there was plenty of other talent in tonight’s instalment – fans were also left impressed with 13-year-old Blair, who sang the Kings Of Leon hit The Bucket and even played the drums and guitar.
