Meet 8-year-old Maddox Marsolleck Piano & Violin Talent from Germany

Maddox Marsollek (born December 2013) began taking piano lessons at the age of three. After only ten months of lessons, Maddox made his debut at a summer concert in the Castle church Altlandsberg and has so far played more than 35 concerts.

 

 

Maddox is taught by concert pianist and Echo Prize winner Elisaveta Blumina. In August 2019 she invited him as the youngest up-and-coming musician to an international master class in Israel, where he also played in the final concert in Elma Hall.

Since August 2019 Maddox has also received composition lessons. In the same month he composed his first piece. In the meantime he has composed more than 10 works, most recently a sonatina in 3 movements (for violin and piano) and a two-part invention. Currently working on a quartet for violin, viola, cello and piano.

In 2020 and 2021 he won a total of 40 international prizes in Germany, Poland, Russia, Latvia, Ukraine, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Indonesia, Japan, Canada and the USA, some in age groups up to 
12 years, always first to third prizes and special awards, including a total of 16 first prizes and one absolute prize. In addition, there are three first prizes in national competitions.

In August 2021 he will play in the Beethoven House in Bonn and in the Mozarteum in Salzburg and in September 2021 in a children’s concert at the Berlin State Opera. One of his compositions (an arrangement for voice, violin and piano) will be premiered there. In September 2021 he will also give his first solo concert in Berlin.

 

In the last two years he has won worldwide over 70 international music awards (mainly as a soloist, but also in a duo with his brother Miles, violin, 6 years old). He always won 1st (a total of 36 and one absolute price) to 3rd prizes as well as various special prizes for an “Exceptional Young Talent”, “Excellent Interpretation” and the best interpretation of contemporary and baroque compositions. There are also four 1st prizes in national competitions. Most recently, Maddox took part in competitions for composition and piano accompaniment for the first time, where he won 3rd prize as a composer and 1st prize as a piano accompanist, as well a 2nd prize in another competition, although the 1st prize was not awarded.

Maddox has already played in concerts in the Emperor Hall in Füssen, the Beethoven House in Bonn, the Solitär Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Teatro Studio, Parco della Musica in Rome, the Gläserner Saal, Musikverein in Vienna, the Elgar Room, Royal Albert Hall in London and the Berlin State Opera, in which two of his compositions (an arrangement for voice, violin and piano as well as a sonatina in 3 movements for violin and piano) were premiered.
